Doodles and Shadow

Holly is a Goldendoodle which is an intentional cross between a Golden retriever and a Poodle. She was born on Christmas day, 2007 and that is why she was named, "Holly". Holly was born at Heather Goins'; Cheyenne Valley Labradoodles and Goldendoodles, located in Gainesville Texas, about 50-miles north of Dallas. http://www.labradoodlebaby.com/

Goldendoodles come in several colors, ranging from an off-white to black, and in several coat styles ranging from the curly poodle type to the straight golden retriever style. Goldendoodles tend to be born with a darker color coat and then lighten up as the grow older. We have noticed that Holly's coat is becoming lighter day-by-day. To view a selection of Goldendoodle pictures showing all coat types and colors please visit: http://idog.biz/Gallery/PhotoGalleryGold1.html

For more general information about Goldendoodles, visit: http://www.goldendoodles.com/ and http://doodlekisses.com/

Holly's mother is Misty, a beautiful Golden retriever and her father is Rocky who is a big Standard Poodle. There were 10 puppies in Holly's litter. Seven were golden or buff colored and three were black. The images of Holly's parents and the early litter images were provided by Heather Goins and are so identified. All other images are mine.

We picked up Holly on February 13th, 2008 at Heather's kennel and she weighed 7 3/4 pounds. Holly, at her full growth, weighs about 65 pounds and is about 26 inches at the shoulders. Holly sheds minimally but, her curlier coated siblings will probably not shed at all.

She is very smart, calm but playful, and is extremely human oriented. She has completed basic and intermediate obedience training and has completed a Therapy Dog Boot Camp.

Holly attracts more positive attention than any dog I have ever owned. She will normally have a group of people around her, petting her and asking questions about doodles. It is nice to have a dog that I can positively recommend.

Holly is a wonderful dog. She is smart and obedient and is a great friend to our Maltese. We are involved in Maltese rescue (as well as doodle rescue) and will often foster Maltese who have had bad experiences with big dogs and fear them. It takes Holly no more than a couple of days to make friends with these frightened dogs and to calm their fears. Holly is esceptionally good with the tiny Maltese puppies and they love her.

Heather Goines, of Cheyenne Valley labradoodles and Goldendoodles is a very reliable breeder who tests her dogs to ensure that she is not breeding anomalies. However, rescuing a doodle is a wonderful way to save a dogs life. If you desire to rescue a doodle, please visit http://www.doodlerescuecollectiveinc.org for information on available doodles...

This Smugmug gallery will record Holly's development and the significant events in her life.

Yes as well as many other purebreds and mixes....Lets not forget about them MJ! Since there are purebreds in the shelters we better STOP breeding them too.... Take you holy opinion elsewhere. I love GoldenDoodles and I think they are a great addition to many families. Their is a dog out there for everyone, and looks like Holly has a great home.
